President-elect Donald Trump has added another key figure to his cabinet by picking Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the next secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
In an announcement he made on social media Thursday, Trump said he was "thrilled" to have RFK Jr. as his health secretary. He trusts that the prominent health care and nature advocate would help put an end to public health "deception, misinformation, and disinformation."
"Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!" he wrote.
Kennedy Jr. is an environmental lawyer, health advocate, and the person behind the successful Make America Healthy Again movement (MAHA). The nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy, he has been a vocal critic of Big Tech, Big Pharma, and Big Food corporations, and has been leading efforts to safeguard public health, strengthen information transparency, and preserve the environment.
Reacting to his appointment, Kennedy Jr. thanked the president-elect for his "leadership and courage" and promised to "free the agencies from the smothering cloud of corporate capture."
During his campaign, Trump indicated that he wanted to give Kennedy Jr. a significant position in his administration should he win, calling him a "good man."
Many believe that Kennedy Jr. will pave the way for solutions to be provided to some of America's biggest health care problems, including removing toxic chemicals from food, fluoride from tap water, and harmful vaccines from clinics.
Kennedy Jr. is part of the groundbreaking health documentary, "Biohack Yourself."
