President-elect Donald Trump's campaign adviser, Alex Bruesewitz, collapsed on stage while speaking at the New York Young Republican Club gala Sunday night.
In videos circulating online, the 27-year-old adviser can be seen introducing Dan Scavino, the incoming White House senior aide, in front of an audience when he started slurring his words.
"Oh no, [inaudible]. I'm forgetting my words," he said.
A few moments later, Bruesewitz fainted, falling to the floor and knocking the lectern over as he fell. Several people rushed to his aid and he was guided off stage.
It was not clear what caused his collapse.
Master of Ceremonies Raheem Kassam, former editor-in-chief of Breitbart London and chief adviser of UK politician Nigel Farage, assured the crowd that Bruesewitz was recovering fine backstage.
The political consultant also managed to find humor in the incident.
"I talked to our friend Alex Bruesewitz and you know what he said to me? He goes 'Did I at least look cool?'" Kassam told the audience at Cipriani Wall Street, as quoted by Fox News.
"I said Alex, you used gravity like I've seen nobody use gravity before in their lives."
Trump phoned in to send his well wishes to Bruesewitz after learning about the unfortunate happening.
"I know that Alex is going to be fine because he’s a tough son of a gun," Trump said over the phone, per the New York Post.
"I want to say hello to Alex, because he’s a very special guy."
Alex Bruesewitz is an American political consultant and strategist and is the co-founder and CEO of X Strategies, a political and corporate consulting firm.
He is a fierce supporter of the America First campaign, Trump, and the Make America Great Again movement.
