Kate Middleton Opens Up About Cancer Journey, Confirms She's 'In Remission'

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, made a heartfelt revelation during her visit to The Royal Marsden Hospital in London on Tuesday.

Engaging with patients undergoing cancer treatment, the royal family member shared personal insights from her own cancer journey, including her attachment to her chemotherapy port.

While speaking with Katherine Field, a 45-year-old patient undergoing chemotherapy, Princess Kate reportedly gestured to her own arm and chest, sharing, "I got so attached to it," referring to her chemotherapy port. According to Daily Mail, Middleton humorously recounted her hesitation when informed she could already have it removed.

A chemotherapy port, often referred to as a “chemo port,” is a small medical device implanted beneath the skin to draw blood or administer chemotherapy drugs directly into the bloodstream without a needle, the Cleveland Clinic explained.

This visit marked Princess Kate’s first official engagement of the year and coincided with her announcement of being in remission. Prince William's wife expressed gratitude for the care provided by The Royal Marsden Hospital, where she received her treatment.

In a personal message posted on Instagram, Middleton thanked the hospital staff for taking care of her over the past year.

"My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything," she wrote.

"We couldn’t have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional."

During the trip, Middleton also emphasized the significance of a positive mindset in the healing process.

"Everyone said to me, please keep a positive mindset, it makes such a difference," she shared with patients.

In addition to her remission announcement, Middleton revealed her new role as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden Hospital, alongside Prince William.

The Royal Marsden Hospital, established in 1851, is renowned for its dedication to cancer diagnosis, treatment, research, and education.
