Jennifer Aniston Reveals Decade-long Health Struggle: 'It's Just Too Much'

Jennifer Aniston is opening up about a health struggle she's been dealing with for over a decade.

In a recent interview with Allure, the 55-year-old actress talked about aging, fitness, and loving her body. However, she got candid about her decade-long struggle with sleep.

"Sleep and I have a real hard relationship. I really want to love it and I am sure it wants to love me, but we have had a hard time, especially the last 10, 15 years," the "Friends" actress revealed.

While Aniston did not tag her issues as insomnia, she did blame the overwhelming influx of information coming through her smartphone as the main reason she battles with sleep.

"It’s just hard to shut the brain down, hard to tell the committee to stop talking...We used to have a television and a radio and that was it," she added.

"I’ve had to give myself boundaries with information...It's just too much. This is not normal."

To help solve her evening woes, the "Murder Mystery" star has implemented a wind-down routine that includes turning off her phone and being in bed at 10 p.m.

Sleep disorders are a significant concern in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 36.8% of U.S. adults report not getting enough sleep on most nights. See CDC data.

Additionally, the National Council on Aging reports that 50–70 million Americans experience ongoing sleep disorders, with insomnia being the most common, affecting roughly one-third of adults.
